Very possibly my all-time favorite American public intellectual.

Reading and listening to Parenti is life changing.

Parenti should be required reading throughout schooling.

Had to read her ‘Anthem’ book. I remember it being actually capturing in a way (Should probably reread to see why that is). But yea we lost a talent that definitely should’ve been part of my curriculum somewhere.

Back in the 80s, his text *Inventing Reality* awakened me to to the evils of Western propaganda.

Michael was as brave and selfless a man as I’ve ever known.

He gave up everything for what he believed. Career, tenure, even social standing, (among the ignorant). He fought his way up from nothing to a place where pedestals, awards, and trophies mean nothing, only truth has any value.

How I wish he were here to help us understand Minneapolis.

We understand Minneapolis but yea he was dope from what I’ve seen

Your distillation of Sera's use of "us" to your own world view may well be a case-in-point. If we understood Minneapolis, Minneapolis wouldn't be happening.

Might it be that Minneapolis WOULD NOT be happening were it not for the elevation of billionaires and criminals to positions of power and control?

Not trying to argue, but i feel I understand Minneapolis. Is your use of ‘we’ also Sera’s - btw thanks for pointing out the struct, it’s expanded my thinking skills.

He was a great man of uncompromising integrity, keen mind, and strong moral character. I would read his each latest book and eagerly await the next one. He clarified many nebulous notions in my mind with astute analysis of the content of his many references. I am very sad that he is gone but glad that in his long life his critiques of orthodoxy reached out to where I sit in rural United States. I will remember him with great fondness as I re-read all of his books. May his ideas live on!

This is sad news indeed! Michael Parenti was one of those individuals who gives one hope for a better tomorrow

even as today makes one want to give up and go live in a cave!

With a heavy heart I mourn this great man’s passing! RIP

I am sorry to hear his not longer alive. He left great books behind for generations to read.

What a tremendous loss, when most of us never even knew what we had. Obviously, on a personal and intimate level, this loss is incomparable for family and friends. Then, there's the world. Michael Parenti lived as he wanted, shared what he believed, never gave in when the struggle and challenges were very real and it would've been easy to lay those burdens down. Thank you, Michael Parenti, for everything. And that's exactly what you gave. We will carry what you've taught us, always.

Michael Parenti planted the seed for so many comrades. May every lectern mic in the sky operate without intervention by house audio. 🌹
